LINEAR FUSION REACTOR LINREC-Z





Why the Linrec-Z thermonuclear reactor is absolutely safe and environmentally friendly.

1. Safety in case of accidents.

The Linrec-Z reactor as an energy production device is safer than most known energy plants.
The main reason for this safety is that Linrec-Z absolutely does not store fuel reserves, which can cause a harmful accident.
The Linrec-Z reactor is a pulsed one, i.e. hydrogen or other light elements that are fusion fuel are supplied into the plasma accelerators and then to the vacuum chamber in portion, and one portion contains only micrograms (maximum milligrams) of hydrogen or other light elements. If the reactor is operating normally, then at the center of the reactor, these micrograms produce energy of several kilowatt-hours during a period of no more than a second during a thermonuclear reaction (these parameters depend on the planned reactor capacity, but it is clear what quantities are involved). This energy is absorbed by the shell of the reactor Linrec-Z and is absolutely safe (its value is approximately the same as for several buckets of boiling water).
If suddenly there is an accident, a breakdown, a power outage, a malfunction or other unforeseen situation, the reactor will simply stop working. Plasma accelerators will stop to accelerate hydrogen and stop to deliver it to the vacuum chamber. If nevertheless accelerators feed plasma into the chamber, but the shell ceases to absorb energy for some reason, then in normal situation the automatics will disconnect the plasma accelerators. Any accident with the shell will lead to an immediate shutdown of the reactor, since the heating of the shell will destroy the magnetic field coils, and the destruction of the shell leads to the immediate disappearance of the vacuum in the reactor chamber. In both cases, thermonuclear reactions will not occur, since in Linrec-Z these reactions can take place only in a vacuum and only in a special magnetic field.
That is, in any contingency situation in the Linrec-Z reactor thermonuclear reactions stop, and no danger arises. The very same hydrogen and other light elements do not pose any danger, since the monthly fuel reserve for the gigawatt Linrec-Z is maximum several tens of kilograms, moreover, Linrec-Z has special storage conditions. Such a stock of fuel is safer than a car with a full tank of gasoline in the parking lot.
So, Linrec-Z is absolutely safe, much safer than any power plant or storage of combustible materials.
The Linrec project is an exceptionally peaceful, non-military, humane, fully open project of worldwide importance. Any fusion reactor of a pulsed type with counter plasma beams has a fundamental constructive restriction on the release of energy in the reactor. The Linrec-Z reactor, and in general, any plasma accelerator, cannot convert, in a single pulse, into a high-temperature source of thermonuclear reactions, an amount of hydrogen or other elements greater than 50 milligrams, and this is theoretical maximum, in fact, this amount is much less. Theoretically, with absolutely complete fusion of all this fusion fuel, about 100 Gigajoules of energy will be released, which is equivalent to combustion of about 2 tons of oil (for comparison, a tank of oil that stands on the railway without any protection is about 60 tons) . This is the theoretical maximum, in practice this energy is technically limited and several times less, and in the Gigawat reactor Linrec-Z there will be enough one pulse per second with energy 30 times less. Moreover, the design of the reactor involves the complete absorption by the shell of the maximum allocated energy per pulse. With any damage to the reactor, its shell, power outage, crashes, tsunamis, earthquakes, operator errors, computer failures, experiments, terrorist actions, etc., the Linrec-Z reactor simply stops - because the fusion reaction is possible only with the joint sinchronized operation all of the reactor units. Thus, even with a strong desire, the Linrec-Z reactor will not be able to turn into a bomb, a secret weapon, a source of public or environmental danger.

2. Ecological cleanliness.

Linrec-Z, like the other thermonuclear reactor, does not emit any gases into the atmosphere during operation, except for small amounts of inert helium gas, so safe that it can be used for inflating children's balloons. This is its ecological purity.
In addition, Linrec-Z absolutely does not use radioactive elements, like nuclear power plants that use uranium or other radioactive fuel. Also, Linrec-Z does not produce radioactive waste such as nuclear power plants.
The fuel for Linrec-Z is hydrogen and other light elements, and the reserves of these elements are enough for mankind on Earth for billions of years, since they are consumed in very small quantities. In addition, such fuel is available on any planet, near any star, and even in interstellar space.
